Casting Calls for Lead Actors

Description: The role of Phillip is a male between the ages of 20 and 27. He blames himself for the death of his sister and because of this, his previous outgoing nature has been replaced with sorrow and self-pity. To aid in redemption, Phillip volunteers at a local rehab clinic twice a week where he meets Aurora. A romantic at heart, Phillip's caring and sensitive nature needs to prevent Aurora's falling in the same way as his sister, enabling him to heal himself and love again.

Description: Aurora is a beautiful young woman between the ages of 18 and 25. She is a rehab patient experiencing withdrawals from her social networking addiction and has lost all social abilities within the real world. Behaving similar to that of a robot, she lives and breathes the digital realm and must overcome this. During her awakening period, Aurora is extremely vulnerable and weak. It is through Phillip's guidance as well as her own determination that Aurora can rediscover who she really is.

 Synopsis (to date):
Taking the two main themes from Sleeping Beauty and the characters within, we aim to depict a hyper-reality in which social networking has become such an addiction that rehab clinics have been set up. The patients suffer from extreme withdrawals similar to that of drug addicts. The real world and "e-world" are dismantled and networking addicts find it hard to face reality and socially lack physical and human companionship.
 The story will follow a multi-plot structure of the two main characters Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and Phillip (the Prince). These will interconnect and incorporate other elements of the good and bad fairy (personified through the internet) within.

- Sunday 25th July 2010
 - Twenty minute blocks throughout the day. Audition time will be negotiated via email once we know what time suits each actor.
